Cooking insight: CNY's eve menu
Hmmm..It's been quite some time before I posted anything on cooking ehs..By the way, I am gonna be cooking for my reunion dinner -_-" just dad and me..but I have to cook a medium scale reunion dinner because according to him it's a symbol of new year and prosperity and luck..and so on..those crap la..and probably he misses mom's dinner..*sigh*..She's not here with us this year..Lately I've been really missing her a lot. Seeing her stuff reminds me a lot a lot of memories.Saddened.
Anyway, here's my menu of CNY eve's reunion dinner:
- Pig stomach with abalone soup
- Pork leg, sea cucumber, 'fu zhok' aka tofu skin, 'yu piu' aka fish maw with 'fatt choy' aka hair-like seaweed
- Buttered prawns
- Steamed Sour Angel Fishes
- Bamboo shoot with scallops
-_-" yes I'm gonna cook all of it. All the ingredients are readily stocked up. Don't know if I can manage but I'm gonna try. Already asked the recipe and so on from different sources. It's my very first time cooking on such scale and good food. It's a lot of work -_-" The washing and cleaning of ingredients as well. *sigh* I'm gonna be labouring my whole day in the kitchen on CNY's eves. Gotta start preparing the night before.GOSH!I'm starting to dislike CNY due to the amount of work!!
I'm like a full time housewife..wth?!People my age are suppose to be slacking, sitting back and relaxing while enjoying the food their moms or aunties or whoever cooked..and yet for me..?!Tiring ehss!!T_T I wanna hire a maid and do all the work for me!!!
Hopefully I manage to pull through! :/ I can cook but simple dishes ehs..so far nothing too complicated yet and I take pride in my soup skill more! wahahahah..yeah I'm far better at boiling soup than cooking dishes! My soup are 100% homemade!!I don't add any extra flavours, salt, MSG or whatsoever..and I don't really need to!It taste just as good.:p
Better stop promoting myself LOL LOL!-_-" Few of my friends said that I can marry already and be a housewife..wth?!?!NO WAY!!!I wanna be a career woman never a housewife!!!!!CIS!!!!
Anways here's some things I had for today's dinner..
Soup for day:
The Beans Soup!
Ingredients:
Pork ribs
Soy bean
Black bean
Groundnuts aka Kacang
Red dates
Dish for the day:
Fried fish!
Ingredients:
Fish
Salt (Marinate the fish)
White Pepper Powder (Marinate the fish)
Black Pepper Powder (Marinate the fish)
Garlic
Ginger
Onion
Sedap!and smells good!!For best effect: eat it while it's fresh out and hot from the wok!
LOL -_-" ...What am I doing here not sleeping..I slept at 5 something ytd night rushing for some presentation today..end up I'm gonna present only after cny!grr!!
Anyway I really enjoy my class nowadays though really tired!I'm taking a class about publication design..where I learn how to publish a mag using software like adobe illustrator..I get to create a mag!!I'ts really interesting and really what I wanted to do all along!!!I don't mind putting in extra effort and time to learn as it's a supposedly 3rd year paper from the other departments that I'm not allowed to take as it needs pre-requisite, however I've gotten special approval lah since it's my last sem and I need a 3rd year electives..so I'm allow to take it but I need to catch up on my own and learn how to use the software. No worries, I can manage, I've learn my adobe photoshop skills from online video tutorials as well..and if I'm interested in it I can learn it!!
Recently, I'm self learning and touching a bit on animation also..a bit la..very amateur basic one..I'm learning from online tutorials and those software!kekekeke..*sigh* At times like this, It really make me realize I've took the wrong course all along!!!
I really wanna do something like graphic designing, web designing, animations!! I've try searching for such jobs but most of them needs the skills and knowledge on how to use the different tools and software and programmes la..!!ish!!!!
Eh -_-" I'm off track again..this post suppose to be only on cooking..hahahahah!!I rambled too much lah!!!!!

Water Trouble..!!GRR!!
As I've said I'm really very tired lately due to school workloads and my part time job as a research assistant as well as being a 'housewife' at home -.- ...due to work, I reach home very late nowadays..almost late evening and if it rains..then probably I'll reach home 8.30pm ++ somemore need to cook ehs and do bloody housechores!then it's time for bed and the next day it's the same thing..I think it's worst than full time working -.- cause I'm juggling between being a student..an RA..and a housewife ...wtf!!! I CAN'T COPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!HELPPPPPPP!ARGHH!I"M FREAKING TIRED!!!and I have no more life..gosh..!not even weekends..!!T_____T.the worst part..I had a really embarassing moment few days ago.

okie okie lah!just a summayr of what happen..
It was raining very heavy..heavy I mean really heavy!I was stuck at the lrt station near my house..and it's getting real late..I just got back from work. I had no choice T_T...and it happen!
The road was flooded. as in really BANJIR!
Water level half to knee level.Can't barely see the drains.
Water current was really heavy.
NOBODY dare to walk out at this state.

I HAD FREAKING NO CHOICE!I HAD TO GO HOME AND COOK BEFORE DAD COMES HOME!!GRRRRR!!!
I was pratically wading in the water in my jeans. My jeans definitely all gone la..
that's not the worst part yet..where I reach this highway cross junction near my house ..the water was really quite high and current was quite rapid as well cause the road is in the low area, therefore the water are flowing down rapidly. I can't barely see the drain either.Imagine how high is it!half of car's tyre maybe? Anyway the motorcycles were all park under the overhead bridge and all the people will looking at me.probably wondering which mad woman dare to walk in this kind of situation.

Guess what I did?
yeah I walked on. More like wading through the waters. Like on a beach or something. Halfway crossing this big road, the current was reall heavy..and my flip-flops came off..and went floating on the water.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG LAH!

like a mad woman catching my slipper on the water in the middle of the road -_-"!
How many pairs of eyes looking at me!??!like mad woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!EMBARASSSING!!!
After that, I caught my slipper, one hand holding it..and I walk barefooted on the road more like walking in the water, cause I can't possibly wear my slippers when I can't see my feet and with water current that rapid!
I was really afraid I step into some drain and fall..cause I can't see where I'm walking and stepping as the drains looks like land with the water covering over it!!I just wade on with my memory where the drain is (lucky my memory did not fail me!) But I step on patches of grass though..close to drain..lucky me -_-!
The worst part..I reach this tyre shop where the people all saw me ..and they kinda laugh.
T_T embarassing..I stand there wore my slippers and smile at them and continue to walk on.
There's still another road to cross before I can reach my house!! I roll up my jeans as high as I can until the knee..(all these while the car waiting for the traffic light all should be looking at me)..and brave the waters once again!!!
and GUESS WHAT!??!
YESHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!MY STUPID SLIPPER HAD TO CAME OFF AGAIN WHILE HALFWAY THROUGH!!!
so I had to drag my feet...and well..the rest is history..
Look at the bright side: I manage to get home in time and cook!?
Bad side : My reputation all gone -_-"
what if those gossiping aunties in the neighbourhood saw!??!
worst ..the next day..I dare not walk past the tyre shop..LOL! I drove to school, thinking the parking fees is worth all the trouble of carrying such heavy load and travel back and to bear with rain..but you know what!?
IT FREAKING DIDN'T RAIN THAT NEXT DAY I PURPOSELY DROVE..AND I HAD TO PAID A FREAKING RM14 FOR PARKING A FEW HOURS AND GET STUCK IN THE BLOODY JAM FOR OVER ONE HOUR BEFORE I CAN REACH HOME!!#%&#$^%#$%^$^%$@^$#!!!
IF ONLY I KNEW IT WON'T RAIN..I WON'T GO THROUGH THE TROUBLE AND STRESS OF DRIVING..AND IM DAMN BROKE.
.wallet left less than RM10..how am I gonna survive!?
Bad luck and more bad luck this year..doesn't seems like a good start for 2009 huh!?
Ooops..I guess my summary wasn't really a summary after all ehs?hahahahha!!!

Ipoh expedition!
On the 14th of january 2009, wednesday..one fine day ..
A bunch of us decide to ..explore.....Ipoh! (cause we KL-ians got bored of the city and have ntg better to do?LOL!)
Left at freaking 6 .30am..see the moon still up..
The roads are clear..woooosh~~

Finally reached IPOHhhhhhhhhhhh!! Our tour guide no.1 car from behind view :p..

Once again after filling our stomachs..we are on our way back to our journey..
Went to visit this temple- cave place..many statues!!They even have the journey to the west characters..wahahah!cute!
I pray for money luck from cai shen $_$..You need to throw the coins into the bowl 3 times which mean you'll be able to have a good money luck..apparently i don't :(..

We did more sighseeing around and most importantly we bought our souvenirs home consisting of local food stuff!!You just can't find it back in K.L..even if you do manage to find some..the taste is totally different and of course the price!!!wahahaha..
After all satisfied with their load..What else to do?definitely EATING again la!!LOL!

Next..went to lepak at one of our ''tour guide's'' house where it started to rain..deciding on our next destination...

Finally we decide to go..another cave -_-"..Gua Kek Loong Tong..!LOL funny weird name!hahaha

After that we have a craving for some fruits...limau bali!!Went to this place where one stretch of shop all selling the same thing -_-'' It's actually scam..they are all under one big company..
We end up not buying..Most of the people there really look lala-ish too -_-"..Change of plan, we decide to go for dinner earlier..muahahah!!
What's for dinner!? The must have Ipoh's famous TAUGE CHICKEN HOR FUN!!! You must just have this if you are in Ipoh..or else your trip will be consider a waste!!!!

That pretty much wrap up our whole trip in Ipoh..It's a peaceful town..not much entertainment or night life..The only entertainment for us there was of course ........

Though never get to go Kellis Castle's, it was overally a good trip and bonding session!!!!!
